Nothing was too much trouble for anyone, the rooms were lovely, breakfast was amazing and all staff were very polite and courteous at all times. Don't know how you and Mandy do it night after night Dougie especially when you're both up and about so early every day to look after you guests. Thanks again for everything, we'll definitely see you again and will happily recommend you to our family and friends.

But felt I wanted to mention when I booked was told we would have room 31 which on the website shows as a large spacious family room, in reality the room 31 we stayed in bore no resemblance to the room on the site whatsoever and seemed far smaller !!!! I havnt got round to taking pics of some of the rooms following a redesign of the website.
Room 31 is still a family 3 room and is spacious enough for 2 adults and a child but I agree the picture of the room currently is misleading.
I'll be rectifying that tomorrow

Jim says:I have to say that, as someone who values good service, I was slightly sceptical about whether this hotel could live up to its frank and honest website which attracted me. Free tea and coffee all day (missing out on additional income); selection of newspapers available each morning; allowing guests to get a take away delivered to eat in the comfort of the dining room in the evening; well behaved children welcomed; rowdies not welcomed; pets not welcomed (suited me). Above all, a choice of four breakfasts, or all four if one wanted. Couldn't be true, could it?
Well, the short answer is, "Yes." Booked a room at short notice and at a very reasonable rate. Received a cup of coffee immediately on arrival (and, yes, the cup had been warmed - I checked out of interest). Plenty of newspapers lying around. Staff were courteous and very helpful on arrival.
The big test was the following morning. But, yes, the menu did indeed offer a choice of four breakfasts or all four! Service was prompt and extremely courteous. Choice of cereals was available, as was fruit and yoghurts were lying in a bowl of ice. Chilled juice was 'on tap' and coffee refills were freely available. A lovely atmosphere. The big breakfast was just that; ten out of ten. Portion excellent - no need to go for all four!
Location of the hotel was excellent. Near the promenade, near the North Pier, but just far away enough to be quiet. All in all, a great place to stay.
Just one regret. On the last day I aggravated an old back injury and could not manage to breakfast. I find the best breakfast in Blackpool and I can't get to it - a terrible blow! Even then staff offered to help with carrying cases and offered to send coffee and a bacon butty up to my room. Was also offered coffee as I was leaving!
Fighting fit again and all the better for a holiday at the Canasta!

There's nothing worse than a bad back...I felt so sorry for you when I saw you couldn't get in your car for 5 minutes but...having been in that situation myself I knew nothing can be done to help...just a matter of time until muscles relax enough for you to bend...anyway...thanks for the glowing review...I'll let the staff know!!
