The Controversy

HANDICAPS

Players are reminded that under Section 23a (subsection ii) of the CIOMI Rules and Regulations any adjustments to handicaps should have been made by 10pm on 28th July 2005. That time came and passed and only three adjustments were made following properly submitted cards. Terry Large is now playing off 21 and Dougie Smith is playing off 21. As new member, Kim Amess, failed to produce any cards his starting handicap is 18. Eddie Daniels remains at 14. Trevor Ayliff remains at 12. Cliff Wright has submitted his handicap to the comittee as 17. As winner of last years event a further two points are automatically deducted and he starts at 15.
Housemates are reminded that "Rules is Rules" and no appeal will be considered. Any written argument will be placed in the bin. Tears and tantrums will be scoffed at (and dummies will be provided in this instance) .

NEW RULES

This years competition sees a new format. An extraordinary meeting of the Handicap Committee was held via telephone and satellite link on Thursday 28th July 2005 9pm. Those present, Mr. T Large and Mr. D Smith (so a full quorum was fulfilled). A motion was raised by Mr Smith at the meeting to change the rules of the competition. It was seconded by Mr Large. The new rule was put to the vote. Those in favour: 2 Those against: 0. The rule was passed (Full details can be viewed below)

This Year the CIOMI Tournament is played over the first 3 Days ONLY

A motion was passed at the Extraordinary General Meeting of the Handicap Committee for the CIOMI 2005 whereby the following scoring format will be acted upon. The adjustments apply to the handicap of the player for the duration of the week of the tournament only. In the event of a tie a countback of the last 3, 6 and 9 holes will be made. STOP PRESS

An extraordinary meeting of the Disciplinary Committee was held on Saturday 30th July 2005 at 7:05pm.
Those present Mr T Large & Mr D Smith.
The Disciplinary Committee was informed from a member of the Handicap Committee that a letter of thanks was received from Mr Kim Amess thanking them for the award of 24 points. Obviously nobody should EVER be pleased with their handicap and the disciplinary committee acted accordingly and deducted 2 points from Mr Amess..

The evidence:

Dear Mr Smith
Thankyou for my 24 handycap very kind of you.
I am really looking forward to my visit to the isle of man.
Looking forward to having a drink with you.
Speak to you soon
Kim
PS As to your handycaps i think you are a cheating bastard
kind regards
mr Amess
