The Canasta Licensed Seafront Hotel is situated directly on the North Promenade overlooking the Irish Sea. We are a short 5 minute stroll from the hustle and bustle of the town centre so handy for the shopping area and entertainment district yet far enough away to enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the select North Shore area.
Blackpool is the perfect base for touring the North West area of England. Liverpool and Manchester are only an hours drive away, Preston half an hour, the beautiful Lake District an hour and a half. Make sure you book enough time to sample all that Blackpool, Lancashire and the North West of England has to offer.
Directions
By Car
From the M55 motorway make your way onto the Promenade (clearly sign posted).
Go past the Tower and North Pier.
Keep going along the Promenade until you spot the Best Western Carlton Hotel which is just after 5th right. We are next door to it on the North side. Pull into the car park (18 spaces)
Arriving by Train
We're only a 3 minute taxi ride from the train station so if you have bags with you it's probably worth the £3 it should cost by taxi. If you prefer to walk the shortest way is by Dickson Road - as you leave the platform turn RIGHT and exit the train station via the smaller exit by the parcels office. This brings you onto Dickson Road. Turn right and walk about a mile until you come to the Carlton Hotel. We are next door to it,
Arriving by Coach
National Express Coach Services operate to and from Blackpool throughout the year. Travel is available from almost any of their 1500 destinations served within the UK. Further details are available from any National Express Agent or telephone the Enquiry Centre on 08705 808080
You'll either come into :-
- Lonsdale Road Coach Park - which is in South Shore - make your way to the promenade and catch a tram going North - exit the tram at the Claremont Hotel - or a taxi should only cost about £5
- Talbot Road Bus Station - which is next to the Train Station - follow the directions for the train station above
Arriving by Plane at Blackpool Airport
The airport is about 6 miles away so a taxi will cost about £6 or £7
Arriving by Plane at Manchester Airport
Follow the sign posts for the M6 and when you get to it head North. Junction 32 of the M6 leads you onto the M55. Follow this right to the end and make your way onto the Promenade (all signposted). Head North past the Tower and North Pier. We are a mile down on the right just after the Best Western Carlton Hotel. Journey takes about an hour.
