As part of its 70 day journey across the UK, the Olympic torch visits Blackpool on Friday 22 you can be sure well welcome it in style with an evening of entertainment, family fun and excitement at the UKs favourite beach resort.
The famous torch will arrive in Blackpool from Cleveleys, before travelling through the north of the town and finishing in an evening celebration on the Tower Festival Headland.
It will carry out a short circuit around the town centre, before arriving at the Blackpool Tower. Once at the Tower, the torchbearer will carry the Olympic Flame into The Blackpool Tower.
When it reaches ground level again, the Flame will light the cauldron on the Tower Festival Headland, where it will stay alight throughout the Evening Celebration event.
When the Flame arrives in Blackpool, Marketing Blackpool is working with LOCOG and the three Presenting Partners of the Relay Coca Cola, Lloyds TSB and Samsung to host an Evening Celebration to celebrate the Olympic Flame.
